The Buckles business was first established in 1973 by Joyce and Richard Buckle as a small shop selling chickens and over 30 years later has become one of the best well known businesses in the area of Selby earning the title of 'Selby's Premier Catering Company'

THE CURRENT BUSINESS:

After the sale of the New Lane property and Health food shop a complete focus and investment has been made into the development and implementation of new ideas of the catering business.
The business now supplies a fast and efficient FREE delivery service at breakfast and lunch times that would not have been previously possible due to traffic congestion in the previous locations.

Staff undergo specialist training attaining food hygiene certificates required by law and many have acquired basic first aid knowledge as well as NVQ’s in shop and retailing.

THE SERVICE AT BUCKLES:

All of Buckles services are renowned for providing generous portions and good value for money. David Buckle has developed a number of ‘ meal deals’ and specialist foods sold from Osgodby. Buckles are also known for its continual creativity, regularly providing new options on the menu. This creativity including examples of wraps, Mexican and other foreign foods has ensured the business remains popular providing customers with more choice than many other takeaway shops.

The catering service is available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day catering for many different size functions ranging from small-scale house buffets for ten people to large banquets for over 500 people.
Buckles Catering has the distinction of having catered for royal visits and regularly cater at Carlton Towers, the Yorkshire home of the Duke of Norfolk.
The flexibility of diversity, creativity and innovation never ceases to amaze clients and proven Viking- theme canapés using ingredients readily available to the Vikings, specialist Greek buffet for a wedding and a Caribbean theme are amongst some of the distinctive hallmarks of Buckles personal service toward clients.
The Buckles business employs local people and only uses locally produced supplies allowing the support to the community and other local businesses.

THE FUTURE OF BUCKLES CATERING:

The business continues to grow from strength to strength despite the construction of the new Selby by pass and introduction of new and larger competitors. The reputation of the standards and service of Buckles remains as evidence for new customers to see and feel comfortable with. Fresh and local produce will always help to maintain the cutting edge in service and quality to our customers ahead of larger cost conscious organisations who have regionally managed operations controlled by central buying forces sometimes operating outside of the UK. David Buckle’s son Oliver Buckle has also started working in the business and increasing his knowledge meaning the next generation of customers experiencing christenings, weddings and special occasions will be able to enjoy the Buckle’s experience which has previously delighted their own families and friends.
